Let’s Recycle..and make Candleholder.

I’m back with another DIY. In this post I’m going to tell you how I made this Tealight Candle holder by recycling ceiling light panels. The ceiling lights at my home had to be replaced along with their panels and I was hesitant to throw away the light panels so I just kept them in storage. Finally, after almost 2 months of them lying in the storage I recycled them into Candle holders which also make a pretty decor.

Material I used-

  • Ceiling Light panels
  • Cardboard
  • Gold Spray Paint from Abro
  • White and Gold Acrylic Paint from Fevicryl (You could buy it from their website http://www.hobbyideas.in/)
  • Paint brush
  • Cutter
  • Hot Glue/ Any strong glue
  • White 3D outliner from Fevicryl (You could buy it from their website http://www.hobbyideas.in/)

Step 1: Draw a circle a bit bigger than the light panel on your cardboard and cut it out with the cutter. This will be the base of candle holder.candleCollage

Step 2. Paint the cardboard circle with white acrylic paint and let it dry. Further decorate it with gold acrylic paint simply by giving an outline and adding some dots to the cardboard circle.collage

Step 3. Place the light panel on a rough paper and paint it using a gold color acrylic spray paint. Spray paints give an excellent finish to the object. If needed give more coats of the paint for perfect finish, I gave 3 coats. Let it dry completely for an hour. candle_Collage

Step 4: Decorate the painted light panel with the white Fevicryl 3D cone outliner by drawing some pattern on it. I really like the effect of these 3D outliners. candle Collage

Step 5.  Find the base of the light panel and apply hot glue/any strong glue on it and place panel on the cardboard circle in the centre.  candle13Collage

Step 6.  There the Tealight Candle Holder is ready! Place a tealight candle in centre and light it. candleholdercandleholder

Here are more of the candle holders that I made.
