Rakshabandhan is coming soon! Why not make your own handmade Rakhi for your brother this year? Here’s an easy DIY on handmade rakhi.
I had posted previously easy Rakhi tutorials which you can check here: Handmade Easy Rakhis DIY
- Colorful Threads/Twines
- Glitter Foam Sheet
- Colorful decorative stones
- 3D outliner (This)
♥ Select a vibrant colored thread/twine of your choice. I chose shiny yellow color and have it cut in 3 strands of equal size.
♥Cut a small square from cardstock and another square of foam sheet a bit small than cardstock square. I chose golden foam sheet to match my tying thread.
♥Stick the foam square in centre of cardstock square.
♥Cover space left around the foam square with decorative stones or sequence of your choice. I chose blue colored decorative stones.
♥This gives a lovely square border. I used the regular white glue to stick the stones
♥To decorate it further I used orange 3D outliner and simply put dots on glitter foam and also gave a very thin border to the foam square as it was very easy to do. Of course if you are creative you can make beautiful designs on it. Then in the centre I put blue decorative stone.
♥Now to attach the threads arrange all three threads parallel and stick this piece you created on them with glue.
I hope you enjoy this diy and it helps you in making a rakhi. I also made similar rakhi in pink and gold combination.
