No sew canvas pouch

Hey there!

We all have some painting or scribbled sheets which we do for practice or fun or just to relieve ourselves from stress. Well my sister had a good amount of such canvas sheets and I know one or the other day they would get discarded so I thought why not to use these somewhere and the idea of pouches came to my mind.

In this DIY post I’m going to tell how you can convert your “not so useful” canvas sheets into a neat handy pouch, also these are no sew pouches therefore extremely easy to make in no time.

Material required:

  • Useless canvas sheet

  • Zipper

  • Scissors

  • Fabric Glue/Instant hot glue

  • Select one of your canvas sheet. Don’t worry about the designs on it we all know this is the time of colors, modern art, and imperfectness everywhere.

  • Turn the sheet upside down and fold both the sides inside towards  the center. You can see in the pic I have stamped on the other side of sheet as well just so the inside of the pouch looks nice and sober.

  • Next the zipper is to be attached upside down on to the canvas using instant hot glue (I have used fevikwik). Stick the one side of the zipper on the edge of one flap of canvas and the other side on the edge of other flap. Refer the images.

  • Now push both the sides of sheet towards inside to regain the shape of the pouch.

  • From the end of the zipper trim off the excess of canvas from both sides.

  • I used the excess cut canvas to create a tag out of it for the pouch. Take one strip of canvas fold it in half and give it arrow like shape from side. Stick both folded flaps to each other with glue but only halfway through.

  • To attach the tag lift the flap of canvas from one side and stick the tag only on the edge of canvas flap. Be careful the glue doesn’t spread inside from the edges. Also the tag should be inside of the pouch while sticking and should not hang outside at this stage.

  • Now time to seal both the sides to canvas pouch but before that make sure the zipper is open. Apply glue on the edges of canvas on both sides and seal the edges.

  • At this moment the pouch is sealed on three sides the bottom, left and right. The top where zipper  will be open.

One more step and your and made pouch shall be ready. Turn the pouch inside out from the zipper’s mouth as it’s open, there your no sew handmade pouch is ready.

Here are more images of the pouch.

Isn’t it an easy diy project and completely handmade. Now you can gift your friends and family members a useful handmade gift and that is this handmade pouch with zipper. All that you require is your waste canvas sheets.
